Blended 1:1 coaching and mentoring
Our flagship program. Each new engineering manager works with one coach and mentor for three months, so they build judgment for the long run while their team keeps shipping.
Who it is for
- New engineering managers, including staff and senior engineers who have just moved into management, finding their feet with a team for the first time.
- You, the engineering leader who promoted them, if you want them well supported without having to do all the coaching yourself.
How it works
- 01
We start with your context
You share your operating principles, career ladder and technical strategy with us, so every session is grounded in how your company actually works, not in generic advice.
- 02
Your managers share theirs before each session
Between sessions, your managers tell us what's going on, in their own time, on our platform. It organizes what they share, so their coach comes to each session prepared.
- 03
We teach, then coach
When a manager is missing a mental model, we mentor: we bring in what has worked in other engineering organizations. Then we coach, with questions that help them adapt it to their team and find their own answers. Because the context is already shared, the session goes to coaching, not catching up.
- 04
A way to raise what should change
What your managers discuss with us stays between them and their coach. You see attendance and progress against the goals agreed at the start. When they spot something in the organization that should change, they can use the platform to bring it to you as a considered proposal.
What you get
A confidential place to think
Your managers can bring real problems and ask the questions they would hesitate to ask you. You see that it's working, not what was said.
Proven practice, their own style
What works in other engineering organizations, and the reflection to turn it into their own way of leading.
More coaching per session
Context is shared ahead of time, so sessions are spent on the hard problems, not on catching up.
Proposals, not complaints
You hear what isn't working from the managers closest to it, with ideas they have already tested.
